The Internet of Things is projected to connect more than 50 billion devices to the Internet, and managing devices at that level of scale is a tough problem. We’re hiring an experienced Head of Marketing to work with our team in Los Altos, where we’re building a platform to do just that.

As the Head of  Marketing you will be the champion for the Electric Imp brand, and develop the Marketing strategy to drive all marketing decisions within the company. You will focus on long term strategic value, and work effectively across, up and down within Electric Imp to align business and create competitive advantage.

Your Opportunity

  • Develop the company’s on-going brand strategy and build Electric Imp’s and its executives thought leadership in the Industrial IoT
  • Responsible for brand awareness, positioning and messaging
  • Build and effectively manage a results-driven marketing organization
  • Develop vertical specific marketing plans and collaborate with product and engineering to build messaging
  • Team up with the key constituents in the business - Sales, Product, and Engineering - to define go-to-market strategies, identify pricing models, and define appropriate positioning, target markets, and sales enablement tactics
  • Responsible for contributing to a roadmap at the high level and drive that down to the specification level
  • Capture the voice of the customer at all stages of the marketing lifecycle
  • Gain an understanding of the competitive and industry landscape to ensure marketing, pricing and messaging are competitive and industry leading and will lead to capture of a targeted market share
  • Set a strategy for effective management of lead generation, through tools and processes to drive high ROI on customer leads

What’s needed

  • 10+ years in corporate marketing in an enterprise technology company
  • Track record of driving revenue and effective campaigns and applying KPI’s and other actionable metrics and reporting to support decision making
  • A leader who drives marketing practices to achieve greater efficiency, reduce operational costs and increase agility and scalability
  • Ability to design a roadmap at the high level and drive that down to the specification level
  • Open, transparent, and iterative communication style, while at the same time driving a true sense of urgency in execution combined with quality results
  • Success defining KPI’s for event analytics to guide decisions on presence and strategy for future events (e.g. CES)
